Redefining Community Impact
Illusions Winter Guard is a brand NEW not-for-profit Junior Optimist Club developed by Guard Director, Courtney Woodward. Our mission is to inspire youth to get active and creative through a Sport of the Arts, Winter Guard!
Youth will work together to create a cohesive, fluid, artistic performance through the use of flags, rifles, sabres and dance choreographed to music. The team will be able to perform in community events, parades and future Winter Guard International competitions throughout Canada and the United States.
All youth ranging in age from 10 to 18 years old living in Windsor-Essex County are welcome to join! No previous experience in colour guard, dance, or winter guard is necessary! Our leadership team will assist you in learning everything you need to know to perform and compete with us!
If you don’t want to perform with our equipment, that’s ok! We are also looking for youth who can assist our performers during all performances and competitions as a crew member. Crew members do not have to attend weekly performances.
All members are eligible for community service hours that can be applied towards the Ontario Graduation Requirements.
